Hi! 👋
My name is Ben Borra, I'm a Software consultant at Noest.
I'm a full stack developer, but I'm mostly focussed in backend development.
The goal of this website is to be a bit of a second brain and mostly a place to store my notes. I'm also planning to write some blog posts about things I'm interested in, things I encounter and want to share with the world.
If you want to contact me you can do so on my LinkedIn page.
About me
I was born in 1992 and live in Belgium, West-Flanders with my girlfriend. My hobbies consist of training my Dog, a Welsh Corgi Pembroke called Walter. I enjoy the occasional boardgame, cardgame, or d&d session.
I have also been playing the drums for over 20 years. With this I have been in a few bands, played a couple of gigs. Currently in a band that's still in the starting phase called 'Scruffy Panda'.
I'm also a big fan of the outdoors, and I enjoy hiking and camping. Best trip I've done so far was 3 week backpacking in Iceland. Over the last couple of years I've also gone snowboarding a couple of times. Something I'm definitely planning to do more in the future.
At home I like to spend time in my yard, being it gardening, just enjoying the sun, or BBQing. I also enjoy cooking in general, and I'm always try out new things. Other than that I also try to tinker a bit. Last year we've installed solar panels on our roof, and I've been trying to automate some things in the house. Once of those projects, for example, was to automatically charge my hot water boiler with excess solar energy.
